Karin Roof MBA / MS
Ms. Roof has 20 years of experience in the medical device industry with leading medical device manufacturers and in management consulting. Currently, she is founder and principal of MedLinX Consulting, LLC, a management consulting firm focused on medtech, where her particular expertise is in commercialization strategy, business planning, and innovation management. Ms. Roof also serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the University of St. Thomas MBA program.
Prior to forming MedLinX Consulting, LLC, Ms. Roof started her career as a field engineer managing pre-market-release clinical trials for Medtronic, Inc. Following business school, Ms. Roof joined an academically-based consulting firm in Cambridge, MA that specialized in Innovation Management before returning to Medtronic as a Venture Manager in the Neurological division. She was later chartered to redesign the strategic planning process at Guidant/Boston Scientific as a Portfolio Manager, where she led the organization into the bold new market and technology areas of remote patient follow-up and heart failure sensors by driving cross-functional product/technology strategy work.
Ms. Roof earned her Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Physics from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
