Young Kim is Co-Founder, President and Principal Consultant of Synex Consulting Ltd., a Seoul-based consulting firm specializing in solutions for international healthcare market access encompassing regulatory approvals, clinical trials, reimbursement listing, market research and business model development. She has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare businesses in both private and public sectors. Ms. Kim has been active in advising the Korea Food & Drug Administration (KFDA) to improve its regulatory systems in various forms. She previously served in the United States Embassy in Seoul, 1988 – 2001, as Senior Commercial Specialist for healthcare industries, intellectual property rights and bilateral government-to-government trade negotiations. During this time, Ms. Kim wrote on healthcare industries and intellectual property rights protection in Korea with market research and policy observations that were published under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Ms. Kim has been the recipient of several awards including the KFDA Commissioner’s Award in 2005 and the Award for Foreign Service National of the Year 2000 by the U.S. Embassy in Seoul.
